There’s a lot to see and do around the area. You can go off by yourselves and explore the beautiful mountains and hills etc, or there are numerous activity providers that will come up with a package to meet your group's needs.
You can walk or bike straight from the pub, the routes are numerous, and mountain bike routes include the much known Killer Loop! Castle Dinas is right behind the pub, just a stroll (uphill!) away. Waun Fach, the highest of the Black Mountains at 810 metres is often the destination for walkers based here.
Nearby, you can also go trekking from one of many riding stables, fly at the gliding club up the road (spectacular) or within less than an hours drive, visit Llanthony Abbey, Tretower Court, The Big Pit(completely free!), or the Dan Yr Ogof Show Caves etc. - there is so much to do.
Locally organised group activities include things like gorge walking, canyoning, clay pigeon shooting, kyaking, white water rafting, pony trekking etc.
Not forgetting festivals ! Brecon Jazz festival & Hay literary festival are both ten minutes drive away, and The Green Man festival is just six miles away.
